The COVID-19 pandemic rapidly changed our lives in a matter of weeks. Routines have drastically changed, unemployment is rising and children said goodbye to their classrooms for the foreseeable future.

Previously, more than 200,000 kids in our community were experiencing food insecurity. Since the pandemic began, food insecurity has skyrocketed.

The Sheridan Story’s school district and community partners now need more than 107,500 meals each week—more than 28,000 bags of food. This is more than five times the normal demand. The Sheridan Story works to fill food gaps for local children who aren’t able to receive free and reduced meal programs.

Minnesota’s Certified B Corporations quickly rallied together last month to support The Sheridan Story’s urgent response to feed children in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.

With the help of nearly 50 donors, we raised just under $18,000 to feed 4,500 local children during this crisis. Thank you to each person, team, family member, friend and organization who donated to support our local children in this time of uncertainty.

And thank you to the Minnesota B Corporations:
