It seems nearly every advertiser with a commercial airing during the Winter Games is a proud sponsor of something. While it’s tough to stick out among the chatter, we’d like to give P&G a virtual fist-bump for their inspired sponsorship of moms. Their typically heart-tugging commercials are enough to capture the hearts of America, but P&G goes the extra mile to extend its messages through multiple channels and in social media. There is little doubt that when the games have closed, the public will not only remember the high-flying stunts of the athletes but P&G as well.
Here are just a few more places moms can feel the love:
- Features during the prime-time broadcast of athletes thanking their moms. Ex: Ashley Wagner
- Sponsoring NBC site: The site is chock-full of stories from the athletes of the winter games – including all of the “thank you mom” videos.
- P&G Website
- Facebook: “Thank you, Mom by P&G” page
- Twitter: @thankyoumom and @thankyoumum
And just like the Games, not everyone is a winner. We’re giving the virtual eye-roll to McDonald’s. Can we all agree that a chicken nugget is not comparable to a gold medal?
